Valentine's Day

I don't have anyone to spend Valentine's Day with this year, but I'm still pretty happy. It seems like every year, even if I have someone, I'm not with them on Valentine's Day... It's never been a big deal to me, I just like to be remembered. I miss giving out those little paper cards from the drugstore as a kid. You know, the ones with Snoopy, Winnie the Pooh, etc. I really wanted to buy some and pass them out to my Clinical group, but...I thought about Mitch Hedberg's joke about handing someone a flier, like you're saying "Here, you throw this away." How long would anyone hold onto a tiny paper card that someone they barely know gave them? Until they got home? I still remember one that my 5th grade boyfriend gave me that I kept for several years...Man, I miss feeling ways about stuff and junk, or whatever.

Anyway, here's a little candy jar my mom surprised me with. Isn't it cute? It came with some "cupid corn," which is the same as halloween candy corn, but it's pink. And it tastes pink. Like cotton candy or something.

This was my only real Valentine's gift. Cuuuuuute. It even tells you that it's cute.

Scrubs

Can you believe this is what I will be wearing to work for the next 1 1/2 years? No more style for me... *sigh* They need to be ironed, but I hate ironing!!

 My stethoscope. At least I can choose the color of the tubing (purple, not that you can tell from this photo). I want a teal one too, but I thought it would clash with the blue of my scrubs, lol.

 My mom got me these 2 Hello Kitty phone charms! The one on the left has Hello Kitty sitting on a blood-filled syringe, along with a bag of blood, and AB, my blood type ;) It's rather large though, so it will have to be my special occasion phone charm, haha. The one on the right lives on my phone. It is so strange, everything around me seems to be turning blue lately; my clothes (scrubs), my phone charm, my furniture, my dolls, my glasses, even my pajamas. lol.

Hurry Xmas

Uffh, xmas is finally over. I'm a bit disappointed because I couldn't find really great gifts for some people. Good stuff, but not great.  But I received some pretty awesome gifts. I know it sounds kind of cheesy, but I always feel like everyone has done too much for me.

Everyone made such a big deal of our "white christmas," but didn't it snow on the 24/25th last year, too? Apparently, global warming melting the glaciers causes cold water to make its way further south, causing colder winters.

 This dog tried to ruin my xmas. Apparently our new tradition is my brother bringing not only his 2 dogs to my parents house for 2 days, but also whatever incontinent, overly aggressive dog his girlfriend is pet-sitting. Yay :/

But my brother gave me this kid robot/macpherson hello kitty, so I guess it's ok. Look how cute and odd it is! I love it too much.

 His girlfriend gave me tokidoki eyeliners and Katzen Zungen chocolates. According to her, "katzen zungen" means "cat tongues" in German, lol. We're such nerds though, we had to look up the etymology of the word "cat." Apparently, it basically goes back as far as homo sapiens, lol. Practically every major language (including at least one Sinitic dialect) can trace its word for "cat" back to the Egyptian "caute." Crazy, right?

 Lisa gave me this Anpanman bag! With Japanese cookies & candies inside! So cute!

My mom gave me this Little Dal "Neiryo." She's a little nurse!

 She also gave me this Harajuku Lovers bag. More little cats!

I was surprised by this wicked cute bicycle. I've been wanting one terribly since I went to Kyoto (everyone rides one there). I won't be able to ride it for transportation any time soon, but hopefully I'll have the time/place to ride it recreationally.
