Amigurumi

 This is my latest amigurumi creation. I made him for my grandmother for xmas because she loves opossums. They are too cute, aren't they? Look at these little guys and tell me they're not cute:

It really disturbs me to think that some people intentionally try to hit them with their cars :( They're like a combination of my 2 favorite animals, cats & rats! (Btw, this woman has the funniest opossum videos on youtube.)

Anyway, I tried to follow this pattern, which is so cute, but it just wasn't working for me (crochet can be...testy, lol), so I mostly made it up as I went along.

I also realized as I was taking photos that I had never taken any pics of what is probably my piece de resistance:

I made this little ami for my mom for mother's day last year. I always give her maneki neko; she has amassed quite a collection. I'll have to take photos of all of them sometime... I had to make up the entire pattern, but it turned out well :) Crochet isn't really the hard part of amigurumi (though it can be frustrating sometimes); placement of eyes & how well the parts are sewn together is the more difficult part, in my opinion, and makes the difference in whether or not it turns out cute.
